The Economy Basics
The currency in Paralives is called Paradimes (or just "p"). Homes, furniture, food, travel — everything costs Paradimes. And yeah, managing your household budget is actually part of the gameplay loop here. The good news? There are way more ways to make money than just showing up to a 9-to-5.
Your starting cash depends on what difficulty you picked in Storyteller mode. You can start flat broke for that "rags to riches" challenge run (respect if you do this), or you can spawn in with 100k+ and go straight into build mode like a kid in a candy store.
Quick Money Cheats (Optional)
Press Ctrl+F1 and type: makeitrain (10,000p), piggybank (1,000p), or lottery [amount] (up to 100,000p). These are great for testing builds or recovering from a financial disaster, but purists can totally skip 'em. No judgment either way.
Career Income
Your day job is still the most reliable money faucet in the game. Each career pays differently based on:
- Career level: Higher rank = fatter paycheck. Simple math.
- Daily performance: Hit your goals and stay in a good mood = bonus pay at the end of the shift
- Work schedule: More shifts = more income. Duh.
- Career perks: Some Job Perk cards straight up boost your daily earnings. Always keep an eye out for those.
| Career | Income Potential | Pay Frequency | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tech | High | Weekly | High skill, long-term stability |
| Medical | Very High | Weekly | Best earnings (requires Adult+) |
| Law | Very High | Weekly | High earnings (requires Adult+) |

| Entertainment | High | Weekly + events | Social gameplay |
| Culinary | Medium | Weekly | Cooking synergy |
| Art | Medium | Weekly + sales | Creative players |

Selling Items
Selling Furniture & Objects
Anything you bought from Build Mode can be sold back. Don't expect to profit though — you're getting pennies on the dollar. But hey, if you built something and changed your mind, selling off the unused stuff is better than letting it clutter up your lot.
Selling Food & Ingredients
Cooked meals and foraged ingredients can both be sold. Cooking high-quality dishes and flipping them is decent passive income — nothing crazy, but it adds up. Works best paired with the Culinary Career since you're grinding cooking XP anyway.
Painting for Profit
Alright, let's talk about the real money maker. The Painting skill might be the single best side hustle in Paralives because you're literally getting paid to level a skill:
- Get your Painting skill to around level 10-15 (way faster with the Art Talent trait)
- Buy an easel and paint every day like your life depends on it
- Finished paintings sell for 50-500+ Paradimes depending on quality
- Higher skill = better paintings = more money per canvas
- Bonus: donating paintings to the museum increases their value over time
The painting meta: Here's my setup — I have one Para paint all day while another works a regular job. By evening I've got a finished painting ready to sell. Do this consistently and one skilled painter can pull in 1,000+ Paradimes per day from painting sales alone. It's basically free money once you've invested in the skill.
Selling Collectibles
If you're the exploring type, Melino is littered with collectibles worth selling. Rarity determines price:
- Common junk: 10-50p (mushrooms, stamps, basic stuff)
- Uncommon finds: 50-200p (artefacts, gems you find occasionally)
- Rare drops: 200-500p (rare artefacts, precious gems)
- Legendary items: 500-3,000p (Meteorites, ultra-rare paintings — these are jackpot territory)
Museum vs Selling
Heads up before you sell that rare collectible — consider donating it to the Melino Museum instead. Museum donations unlock exclusive rewards you literally cannot buy anywhere else (Laptops, Trophies, Solar Panels, Wind Turbines, even a Castle Miniature). Long-term, donating rare stuff usually beats a quick cash grab. Your call though.
Town Events & Side Jobs
- Treasure Hunt (Thursdays): Red chests spawn around Old Town. Crack 'em open for free loot you can flip for cash.
- Weekend Market (Sundays): Browse for underpriced items and resell them. Classic merchant play.
- Bus Fare Exploit: Bus rides cost only 3p. Dirt cheap. Use it to explore every corner of Melino hunting for sellable stuff — the travel cost is basically nothing.
Fastest Money Methods (Ranked)
- Cheats:
makeitraindumps 10k in your pocket instantly. Fastest method by a mile, but it kinda defeats the whole point of the economy game. Use it if you don't care about that aspect. - High-level career + daily bonuses: Once you're mid-rank in Medical or Tech, daily paychecks can easily exceed 1,000p. This is the "legit" endgame money.
- Painting grind: A Level 15+ painter cranks out 300-500p per painting. Two paintings a day = 600-1,000p daily with zero commute. My personal favorite method.
- Lottery cheat:
lottery 100000and boom — 100k in one command. For when you want to skip the grind entirely. - Collectible hunting: Thoroughly exploring Melino and selling everything you find. Slow burn but it adds up over weeks of gameplay.
- Culinary flipping: Cook high-quality meals and sell 'em. Good because it doubles as skill training. Not huge money but consistent.
My recommendation: If you want the best overall experience, pair a steady career with painting as a side hustle. You get reliable weekly paychecks PLUS daily painting income. Keeps the economy engaging without feeling like a total grind. That's the sweet spot for me at least.
